The craft
I build furniture out of solid walnut and hard maple, mostly thick 8/4 stock, with hand-cut joinery where it counts. One piece at a time, built to hold up to generations of use.
Solid wood
North American walnut and hard maple, picked board by board. No veneer, no shortcuts.
Hand-cut joinery
Dovetails, mortise and tenon, and Japanese pull saws where they do the best work.
One at a time
Every piece is made to order by hand. Not a production line.
About
Aleole Woodworks is a one-person shop in Summerfeild, Florida, built around a simple idea: furniture should be made out of real wood, put together properly, and built to outlast the person who buys it.
Every piece is made by me, by hand — solid walnut and hard maple, cut and joined one board at a time, then finished with hardwax oil that lets the grain do the talking and can be touched up for years.
I keep a small number of pieces ready to ship, and I take on a few custom orders at a time so each one gets the attention it deserves. The name on the work is mine — I stand behind it.
Custom orders
Have a piece in mind? I take on a few custom orders at a time — furniture, cabinets, one-off pieces. Tell me what you're after and we'll talk through the wood, the size, and the price.
